Colour Inspiration: Red

Scott Weston.jpg

This is not only a red inspiration but also a fantastic work from Scott Weston. And you may recognise the lovely Mademoiselle armchair, created by Philippe Starck for Kartell. This time, covered with Missoni fabric and design.

Kartell… mon amour!

kartell popdue.jpg

Well yes, I love Kartell! From the Ghost Chairs, to the acclaimed Bookworm bookshelf in my lovely apartment in Milan, I always find fascinating everything they do: usually simple ideas, realised to perfection. “Less is more”. I couldn’t agree more.

Pop Armchair designed by Piero Lissoni with Carlo Tamborini comes in an array of colours, denim, soft leather or with different styles from fashion houses, like Missoni or Etro. My favourite? Well, if I had to choose one solid colour, I would go for orange. Probably sofa style, with a white one in between. But if I had complete freedom, then I would choose the one from last year Salone, in collaboration with Missoni. Here below… the one on the left!! SS_KartellPOP2.jpg

Missoni Home 2010

missoni-home3.jpgAustralia had an amazing influence on what I like and what not… Maybe because my arrival here coincides with a full time job, hence the chance to spend my money on something more than  the mere survivals that I faced as a student. I am not too sure what the deep reason might be, but today I look at luxury brands with different eyes, sometimes with cupidity and in particular home essential and furniture.

Missoni Home is one of my favourite brands, I would love to fill my house with its linen, cushions, candles, sofas.  This year the always smiling Rosita Missoni presented the new Bouquet Collection at Salone Internazionale del Mobile. A colours explosion, tartan, motifs, floral designs, the quintessence of gardens, bouquets of daisies, anemones and forget-me-nots. And then, unusual geometry allusions take the focus away from the harmony, like an anticlimax of shapes and colours. Visit the site and have a good look through the catalogue, you cannot help but falling in love with every single product!
