A beautiful day!

A very good friend of mine told me that is extremely important to love your body, to cuddle it, to create special occasions just for you to enjoy. I’ve never been such an advocate of the “love yourself” philosophy, I always found a more important to love others and being loved in return. However, I must say… lately I’ve started to think that a little cuddle therapy from time to time doesn’t hurt!

So yesterday I’ve decided it was time for a treat. Well, actually I had more than one so let me talk you through my beautiful Saturday!

First of all, a naughty breakfast at Max Brenner… what’s Max Brenner? well, this deserves a chapter on its own so maybe next time but for now just bare in mind: chocolate!
So I had my croissant with melted chocolate, a lovely cappuccino and that couldn’t have been a better way to start the day.

After a walk around the city, I ended up visiting one of my favourite places… Aesop!
I found the lovely Ines, who gave me precious tips and tricks on how to make my skin glow, and I walked away with a much lighter wallet, but a very happy heart and soon, face too.

I already talked about my beloved Primrose mask, now I also have a Fine Quartz, Rosemary Leaf, Lactic Acid Exfoliant Paste (divine!) and Parsley Seed, Lavander Stem and Blue Chamomile Anti-Oxidant Facial Toner (super divine!). Plus I walked away with quite a few samples to try new cleansing, eye-bags reducing products (lately mine are pretty much living a life on their own) and only one (read: pure gold) of one of their newest addition, the miraculous Perfect Facial
Hydrating Cream
, full of vitamins and anti-oxidants. Let’s say my beauty products monthly budget couldn’t stretch this far and sadly I had to leave it on the bench…

But, I have enough to keep my skin nice and healthy for a while, and the astute Ines made sure with all those samples that I will go back very soon!

Aesop

It doesn’t happen often that I find everything a company is doing absolutely brilliant. There is always something they could have done better, a better positioning in the market, a different profile… Aesop to me, is like the perfect marketing strategy, the perfect brand, the perfect communication.
And this was even before I tried their products! I signed up for the newsletter one day expecting the usual list of why you should buy this, why that, but… I was blown away by how smart it is. They created a sensory experience, engaging your body and mind at the same time. It’s very stimulant in a cultural sense, suggesting a movie to watch, a CD to listen to, an expo to visit. What does this do? It creates associations in your mind, you would probably be surprised by knowing that sight is highly overrated, while smell and tact are able to create stronger connections within your brain, they are easier to remember, and the right stimulus will bring them back to your mind even years later, without you even realizing, or wanting to! I am not quite sure why I am telling you this but I find it fascinating… I might as well be the only one, but think about it!

Anyway, done with the prologue… it’s time to sense Aesop products!
Well, my favourite is the Primrose Facial Cleansing Masque. You put it on, leave it untouched for 15 minutes or until your face really cannot move any longer (this cracks me up all the time, I start laughing like an idiot!) and then rinse. The result: your face is super-soft, clean, fresh and smell so so nice. It is actually a scent that comes with me all day long and keeps me in such a good mood!

For more information, visit Aesop. For those who live in Italy, I am working to get these fantastic little products to you. It may take a while, but I’ll do it!
