A beautiful day!

aesop.jpg

A very good friend of mine told me that is extremely important to love your body, to cuddle it, to create special occasions just for you to enjoy. I’ve never been such an advocate of the “love yourself” philosophy, I always found a more important to love others and being loved in return. However, I must say… lately I’ve started to think that a little cuddle therapy from time to time doesn’t hurt!

So yesterday I’ve decided it was time for a treat. Well, actually I had more than one so let me talk you through my beautiful Saturday!

First of all, a naughty breakfast at Max Brenner… what’s Max Brenner? well, this deserves a chapter on its own so maybe next time but for now just bare in mind: chocolate!
So I had my croissant with melted chocolate, a lovely cappuccino and that couldn’t have been a better way to start the day.

After a walk around the city, I ended up visiting one of my favourite places… Aesop!
I found the lovely Ines, who gave me precious tips and tricks on how to make my skin glow, and I walked away with a much lighter wallet, but a very happy heart and soon, face too.

I already talked about my beloved Primrose mask, now I also have a Fine Quartz, Rosemary Leaf, Lactic Acid Exfoliant Paste (divine!) and Parsley Seed, Lavander Stem and Blue Chamomile Anti-Oxidant Facial Toner (super divine!). Plus I walked away with quite a few samples to try new cleansing, eye-bags reducing products (lately mine are pretty much living a life on their own) and only one (read: pure gold) of one of their newest addition, the miraculous Perfect Facial
Hydrating Cream
, full of vitamins and anti-oxidants. Let’s say my beauty products monthly budget couldn’t stretch this far and sadly I had to leave it on the bench…

But, I have enough to keep my skin nice and healthy for a while, and the astute Ines made sure with all those samples that I will go back very soon!

Instant Love!

recbox1_riflepaperco.jpg

In the last post, I told you how much I love lists… well, what you should know is that I love cooking twice as much. So…You can probably imagine why I immediately fell in love with this little box. A stylish, organised, timeless way to store your recipes… and recipes are sorts of lists, right?

There’s something special about this Rifle Paper Co. Heirloom Recipe Card Box: made by local craftsmen from locally salvaged hardwood (trees that were destined for landfills), each one is unique and hand-crafted and it can take up to three months to be completed.

A tiny box full of memories, traditions and generations connecting together… it seems something that my great grandma could have passed on for years and eventually got to me. Maybe that’s why I love it so much and want one in my kitchen!

Write away!

Poem.jpg

In the last month things have been very busy, I feel like this little blog has been left a bit aside. There are million things I’d like to talk about, things to share, stories to tell, pictures to show. I think it would be a good idea to make a list and carefully follow it… to stay on track!

You probably should know that I love lists… not only for grocery, but for just about everything. Maybe that’s why I like this teacup. Its name is Poem and I should say no more!

Designer Katarina Häll describes this cup “as a meditative break in the rush of everyday life, to offer a moment of reflection”. Think about it: we run all day long, when we write something it’s usually in a hurry, normally not in a nice way, on our computer, cellphone or blackberry… we never take a moment to enjoy the old fashion writing, when your soul comes out of your hand and leave traces.

That’s why I like lists… they talk about me, and to those who knows me, they say a lot.

Poem by Katarina Häll is distributed by Design House of Stockholm, see the beautiful shop online here!
