Bholu Your Heart!

Couple of weeks ago in one of my daily reads I came across a great interview of Jodie Fried for The Design Files blog. She is originally from Australia but lives in US and is an incredible and talented business woman everyone should know about. She owns a company named Bholu which philosophy is to create beautiful products while benefiting rural and urban communities in India.

Each piece is hand embroidered or handwoven using ancient techniques, giving not only a touch of uniqueness and personality to each products but also creating an opportunity for the artisans to gain an income and keep a traditional craft alive.

Bholu doesn’t stop at helping artisans and local community, it also assist the Anganwadi Project and cooperates with Architects Without Frontiers Australia building pre schools in underprivileged communities; have built eight so far plus several more under construction. It is also a company with offset carbon emissions by supporting energy renewal and making financial contribution to Climate Friendly to support environment projects. Isn’t this amazing?

So have a look at the website and shop around for some beautiful cushions, wallpapers, throws, rugs and much more. They don’t have a stockist in Italy, but you can buy online and they deliver everywhere world wide. These areĀ  products everyone should have in their home, they are beautiful and do beautiful things too.
