Behind the scenes

If you have a look at the archived posts, you will notice a rather large gap around April. It was March when I realised I wanted this blog to be bilingual, which involved moving to a different and more versatile platform.

With some precious help, I started writing, moving and translating each post, choosing colours, designing the header. The header is what probably took most energies, I guess it happens when you have a vision in mind but not yet the skills to translate it into reality. So I had some more help, loads of help…

One of the elements on the header took shape one afternoon and I truly believe best ideas come when you are enjoying the moment. When your mind is not preoccupied with hundreds of thoughts and lucubrations, when you are experiencing something truly special, than you see it… the light! No, not that light, just a light, an idea… an unconditional smile, and then the idea.

A bit of background… I was having a coffee with one of my dearest friends here in Sydney, at our favourite place: Zumbo (yes, you remember correctly, the one from my birthday’s post. Addicted? Absolutely!)
We were having coffee, macarons, talking about life, future projects, old jobs, people… can you see us?

After our coffee, with an ecstatic mind, after an hour of laughs, stories and macarons, we make our religious journey to the main patisserie. Here some visual to help!

And then, a smile… I see the colours, how cute they all are and I think: wouldn’t they be lovely on my blog? Oh yes, they would!

There my header started having a more definite shape… well, I’d like two of the yellow, two of the purple… and one orange, please!
So good… the photo shoot was fun, you would not believe how soulful macarons can be, they do tell you where to stay and how to look, the best profile. But then, when you have the one perfect shot you are very happy with, you do have to eat them, right?! Oh, yes you do!

Ok, so I may be a little biased, but, BEST post ever!, hehehe, that was such a great afternoon and that photo you took, of the stack of macaroons is just *so* adorable.

Ms. Lilac, I think it’s amazing that you can write a spectacular blog, in two languages, it’s such an achievement.

Hanno più o meno una logica… per dire, quello lilla è al ribes nero, quello giallo al limone e così via. Però il più buono in assoluto è un altro giallo, con il ripieno al frutto della passione e cioccolato, uno spettacolo!
